Seen & Unseen

The Garden of Her Mind is a collection of paintings by shopkeeper, Erika Pfluke, that explores the inner landscape of womanhood as it intertwines with nature—both cultivated and free, ever-changing like the seasons, yet grounded and enduring. Each piece reflects an element of nature, an emotion, or the quiet reciprocity between the two.

Figures emerge not as portraits of specific individuals, but as vessels—holding tenderness, restraint, longing, and quiet confidence. Flowers, birds, and dense botanical environments serve as both setting and metaphor, where growth and overwhelm, beauty and transformation, coexist in layered harmony. Nature offers us comfort and clarity; in return, we tend to it with care and reverence.

Color plays a central role—bold yet intuitive—echoing the richness and complexity of her inner world. There is a gentle tension between stillness and movement, control and surrender, softness and strength.

Together, these works invite the viewer inward—a reminder that women, like gardens, are always in the process of becoming, and always uniquely beautiful. In the natural world, we find reflections of ourselves—guidance, understanding, and, at times, a quiet sense of peace.
