About

Bringing the beauty of nature to your every-day.

Bird & Brass is gift shop and lifestyle store located in downtown Watkinsville, Georgia and owned by local artist Erika Pfluke.  We offer an artfully curated selection of clothing, home, garden, and gift items, as well as select pieces of original art and prints by Erika and other local artists.   We also have an in house stationery design and print line called Bleuet.

People often tell us that our shop is magical and unlike any store in the Athens area not only because of our aesthetic but also and especially because of the life-giving spirit that rests in our space.  We feel it too and are in awe of how it captivating it is.    It's not by accident and is cultivated daily by our pursuit of compassion, community, and grace, all of which we hold high.  Your words are the highest compliment to us and we love getting to share what we steward with you.  Come see us if you are in the NE Georgia area - we would love to meet you!

We are inspired by the creative and exquisite beauty of nature and our love of that beauty is woven throughout our store.  Wherever we can incorporate nature, we do as we believe nature offers an infinite store of inspiration, beauty, wisdom, and restoration for all seasons of life.   What does that look like?   Come visit us and see.   From flower and bird motifs, to garden and fauna inspired designs, we strive to help you incorporate the life-giving nuances of all God made into your every-day.

If you are shopping for a gift, we offer gift wrapping and cards so you can leave with a lovely gift in hand, ready to give.  In a hurry or not sure what to choose?  A gift card is a perfect option.

Want to dig deeper?  We'd love for you to join us for one of our crafting or cooking classes.

About Erika

Erika is an artist and creator and the founder of Bird & Brass.   B&B is birthed of her truly insatiable passion for creative pursuits.   The shop isn't the first of her entrepreneurial endeavors, but it is the richest and fullest and brings to fruition the many ideas that were sparked over the last 20 years.  She'll tell you it is her happy place.   Happiness and inspiration flow in and out of our doors every day.

You'll see much of Erika's art throughout the store.   She creates new oil and acrylic works several times a month and continues to grow our in-house stationery line, Bleuet, all from our upstairs studio.  Come say hi next time you visit the shop!

She accepts commissions year round for art, pet portraits, ornaments, and custom stationery and other creative ideas.

Erika is also a mom of six, with five kids still at home.  It's a lot to juggle and she'll be the first to tell you she never has it all together.   She is a messy artist, forgets everything that her phone doesn't remind her to do, and often chooses to fill her day projects that bring her joy over those that bring her money.  She spends too many minutes every day looking for lost things and has paint on most of her clothes.   But she wouldn't have it any other way.   Other ways are so boring, she says!   The chaos breeds creativity and it's a joyful and beautifully messy approach to life and art!

And last but not least...

We want you to know that we hold our earnings with open hands, ready to give back where we see needs.  What you give us, we want to steward well.  We are honored to provide for Fabrice, a boy in Rwanda, known to our friends who work there.  In 2025, we were able to also sponsor a friend of his, David.   We give regularly to local and international missions, humanitarian aid, and other organizations that align with our heart for compassion, grace and community, including God Behind Bars, a beautiful organization in pursuit of dignity and restoration for men and women in prison.
